Syed Sadique Reza has more than 25 years’ experience in Business Advisory with the ability to prepare and deliver strategic objectives in a competitive cross border business environment. He has primarily worked in the financial sector in Bangladesh, gathering an almost full spectrum of functional experience advising large project investments and strategic growth investment of business conglomerates, structuring capital deals, structuring financial products, raising both local and cross border capital raising.

 

He has handled large and small corporate and has been advising them on business models, taking investment decisions, and providing structured financial product solutions both in equity capital and debt capital market. With an in-depth understanding and knowledge of Bangladesh's financial market, risk management, commercial legal structure, and industrial dynamics, he specializes in analyzing the business dynamics, strategies of the banking and non-banking financial sector. He also advises international institutional players regarding their transaction management in capital markets.

 

Amongst his extensive experiences, some key ones are:- 

• landmark project finance advisory (1250MW Coal Based Power plant -BIFPCL, APR Energy 300MW rental power plant);

• loan syndication (BSRM Steel), issue management /equity raising (BERGER IPO);

• M&A /Escrow (acquisition of 108MW HFO Power plant for Energypac group, NTT Docomo Acquisition of AKTEL BD) deals;

• large debt raising both BDT and FCY for local corporate (Italian ECA Credit Facility for Pran Group);

• offloading equity for international investors in the local market (SINGER BD)

As Head of Origination In Riverstone Capital Ltd (https://www.riverstone.com.bd/ ), his team was responsible for over USD 3 Bln financial advisory mandates in project finance, corporate finance & M&A deals including some landmark Export Credit deals in Bangladesh. Prior to this role as Head of FIG and HSS in HSBC Bangladesh (https://www.hsbc.com.bd/1/2/), He has managed portfolios of over USD 1 Bln for HSBC in Bangladesh against FIG credit (all major bank in Bangladesh) and HSS assets (major global brokers and asset managers active in Bangladesh). He also executed some milestone equity and syndicated transaction deals in his role as Head of Structured Finance in IDLC Finance Ltd (http://www.idlc.com/ ).
